7-Zip is a great and totally free software that you can use to either create or unpack various compressed file formats like ZIP, GZIP, TAR, ISO, RAR, MSI, and its own native formats 7z. It is an open source software (GNUP LGPL licensed source codes) with a very easy-to-understand controls and layouts. It also has the ability to integrates with Windows Shell and plug-in for FAR Manager.
